Brunei-muara with an area 570 square kiometers, may the smallest of brunei's four district but it is here in Brunei Muara that locates the site of the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan and the seat of goverment and commerce. The capital is named after His Majesty late father, sultan haji omar ali saiffuddien sa'adul khairi waddien, who in 1967 abdicated in favor of his son and assumed the tittle ''seri begawan'' .
